The Beehive State: Part Two Small Creeks

 June 7, 2021

Our next destination was on Chul's agenda to fish dries on a some small creek.  Fished the morning until lunch and caught more than our share of fish.  Good times fishing with dry flies.

After a riverside lunch it was time to head further north to our ultimate destination Flaming Gorge and the Green River.  We'd stop at the Fly Shop at Flaming Gorge Resort for flies and information.  I picked up a map of the river and started documenting all the info the staff was giving us.  We picked up various cicada patterns and started down toward Dutch John.
On the way we'd stop at Trout Creek Flies as well.  There I'd recognize Steve Oualline who I knew back in his days as the manager of Bob Marriott's.  I didn't realize he worked there so I was quite surprised.  After chatting and getting more info he let us know of a good camping spot nearby.  We left the shop and headed to the river to check it out.  We didn't fish and went back to camp to make dinner, pork chile verde with refried beans and avocado.
